Tooth Town is a specialist paediatric dental practice in Coorparoo, Brisbane. We look after infants, children, adolescents, and patients with additional needs — and we have built the practice around a simple idea: a dental visit should not be something a child dreads.

Why Tooth Town exists

Plenty of children (and plenty of parents) find dental visits intimidating. Tooth Town was founded by specialist paediatric dentist Dr Helen Fung to be a genuinely different experience — a practice designed from the ground up around how children actually feel, rather than a general practice that also happens to see children.

We have done our best to help you forget you are at a dental practice at all. The space, the pace of an appointment, and the way things are explained are all built for young people.

What we believe

Our vision is creating and growing healthy smiles for every child’s future, and our purpose is reaching every child’s potential through more than oral health.

That “more than oral health” matters to us. Teeth do not exist in isolation — how a child eats, breathes, sleeps, speaks and grows is all connected, and we take that wider picture seriously.

Six values guide how we work: honesty, accountability, adaptability, authenticity, compassion and community. In practice, honesty is the one families notice most. We will tell you when your child needs treatment, and we will just as readily tell you when they do not.

How we care for children

Children are not small adults, and they are not all the same. Some arrive curious and chatty. Some arrive frightened. Some have sensory needs, additional needs or complex medical histories that change what a good appointment looks like for them.

So we go at your child’s pace. We explain things in words that make sense to them. Where a child needs more support to get through treatment comfortably, we can discuss options including happy gas (relative analgesia) or, for some children, treatment under general anaesthesia in hospital. Your child’s clinician will talk you through what is appropriate for them — not every child needs the same approach.

Care for the whole family, under one roof

Families often come to us because something specific is worrying them, and stay because they no longer need to be sent elsewhere.

Between the clinicians consulting at Tooth Town, we provide check-ups and preventive care, fillings, crowns and restorative treatment, tongue and lip tie assessment, care for dental trauma and dental anomalies, treatment for weak enamel, early interceptive orthodontic care, orofacial function and airway-aware assessment, special needs dentistry for children, adolescents and adults, and dental treatment under general anaesthesia at St Andrew’s War Memorial, Herston Private and Brisbane South Private hospitals.

We also work closely with the professionals already helping your family — GPs, paediatricians, lactation consultants, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and orthodontists — because good care for a child is rarely the work of one person alone.

Families who travel to us

We see families from across South East Queensland and beyond, including rural and remote families for whom getting to Brisbane is a genuine undertaking. Where it is appropriate, telehealth can reduce the number of trips a family needs to make. If you are travelling a distance to see us, tell our team when you book so we can help plan the visit sensibly.
