Treatment in hospital involves three separate fees from three separate providers. This page explains each one, when it is due, and how to pay.
The three fees
| Who bills you | What it covers | When and how |
|---|---|---|
| Tooth Town | The dental treatment itself, as listed on your treatment plan | Deposit within 24 hours of booking; balance by 4:00 pm two weeks before surgery |
| The hospital | Theatre and day-surgery fees | The hospital contacts you in the week before surgery. If you have hospital cover, check your fund’s agreement with that hospital — see Your hospital |
| The anaesthetist | The anaesthetist’s fee | Their rooms email an estimate about five business days before surgery and bill you directly |
Tooth Town’s fees do not include the hospital or anaesthetist fees, and we cannot quote them for you. How to request an estimate from each is on Your hospital.
Deposit
The deposit holds your child’s theatre place and comes off the total dental fee.
- Dr Helen Fung, Dr Steve Kazoullis, Dr Maryam Ghafournia: $300
- Dr Candy Fung (special needs dentistry): $500
Due within 24 hours of booking, together with the booking and medical form. Refundable if the GA is cancelled; transferable if the date changes; cancellation within 48 hours of surgery may forfeit it.
Balance of the dental fee
Due by 4:00 pm two weeks before surgery, at the same time as the signed consent forms. If you book within two weeks of the date, both are due at booking.
How to pay
PayID (recommended)
PayID is the fastest and safest way to pay us. Payments arrive straight away, and before you confirm, your banking app shows you the name of the account you are paying — so you can be certain the money is going to us.
- PayID (ABN): 34 607 297 003
- The name that will appear: Brisbane Tongue Tie Clinic Pty Ltd
Brisbane Tongue Tie Clinic Pty Ltd is the company behind Tooth Town, so this is the correct name to see. If the name shown is anything else, please stop and call us on (07) 3398 5885 before sending anything.
Please put your child’s full name in the payment reference so we can match the payment to their account.
Bank transfer
If your bank does not offer PayID, you can pay by direct deposit:
- Account name: Brisbane Tongue Tie Clinic Pty Ltd
- BSB: 484-799
- Account: 352287080
- Reference: your child’s full name
In person at the clinic
Cash, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard.
Payment plans
We understand that treatment can be a significant expense, so payment plan options are available through Dossh and Zip Money.
Both are separate payment providers, which means you will apply directly with them and their own approval process, fees and terms will apply.
If you would like to use a payment plan, just let our team know and we can help point you towards the option that best suits your child’s treatment fees.
Please let us know as early as possible, ideally at least four weeks before your child’s surgery date, to allow enough time for the payment plan to be approved and set up before your payment deadline.
Keeping your payment safe
For your security, we do not take card payments over the phone. Please use PayID or bank transfer, or pay in person at the clinic.
We will never email you to say our bank details have changed. If you receive a message that appears to be from us with different payment details, do not pay it — call us on (07) 3398 5885 first.
Receipts, health funds and Medicare
- Payments made before surgery are prepayments. The receipt you receive at the time confirms payment only.
- After surgery we issue a fully itemised receipt, usually within one to two business days, once any additions or refunds are finalised. This is the document to submit to your health fund.
- Health fund rebates for dental treatment vary between funds and policies; contact your fund with the item numbers on your treatment plan. Rebates can only be claimed after treatment.
- Medicare and the Child Dental Benefits Schedule do not cover dental treatment performed in hospital. The hospital and anaesthetist fees may attract Medicare and health-fund benefits — ask them directly.
